Ying Wai Chan
Directing
Chan Ying-wai, a Hong Kong director, currently teaches at the School of Film and Television at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He graduated from the same institution in 2004, majoring in directing. In 2006, he participated in the production of "Wasted Youth," serving as the sound designer. In 2008, his drama film "Someone’s Running" won the Best Film and Big Wave Award in the Fresh Wave Open Division. In 2010, he produced the documentary "另一邊的風景 (The Other Side of the Picture)," which reviewed the creative journey of cinematographer Wong Chung-piu. In 2013, he obtained a Master of Arts in Fine Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 2015, he participated in the production of "Ten Years: Self-immolator" as the sound designer. In 2024, the Hong Kong TV drama "Through a Lens Darkly," directed by Chan, was broadcast on ViuTV.
