Directing
Born 1927-06-16 · London, England · Died 2011-03-04
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Charles Jarrott (16 June 1927 – 4 March 2011) was a British film and television director. He was best known for costume dramas he directed for producer Hal B. Wallis, among them Anne of the Thousand Days, which earned him a Golden Globe for Best Director in 1970. Although Anne was nominated for several awards, critic Pauline Kael wrote in her book Reeling (Warner Books, p. 198), that as a director, Jarrott had no style or personality, and that he was just "a traffic manager".
